How The Olympic Games 2012 Race Was Won


Once every 4 years, a momentous event, that reverberates with huge financial implications, takes place. Such an event was undertaken in 2005. Consequently, during July of that year, the sporting future of the United Kingdom was decided. Will it ever be the same again?
During the first week in July 2005 a momentous event took place. The date was the 6th.  The place was the Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore.  The special occasion was the 117th Ordinary Session of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).  The purpose was to meet and vote to pick the city to host the XXX modern Summer Olympic Games.

To begin with, there had been nine cities fighting to hold the 2012 Olympic Games.  On the 18th May 2004, these were reduced to 5 main contenders.  Havana, Istanbul, Leipzig and Rio de Janeiro had been ineffectual in their endeavors to satisfy on technical appraisal and were eliminated from the continuing procedure.
